Ahi Kā Reviews & Accolades
GOLD MEDAL - New Zealand International Wine Competition 2023
GOLD MEDAL - Aotearoa Regional Wine Competition 2023
5 STARS - Michael Cooper | "Ahi Kā is a partnership between specialist grape growers and the owners of Blank Canvas. Offering impressive quality and value, the intensely varietal, youthful 2023 vintage (5*) is a single-vineyard wine, grown at Dillons Point. Light lemon/green, it is mouthfilling and vibrant, with very good weight and concentration of ripe, passionfruit/lime flavours, vague salty notes, excellent delicacy and a dry, persistent finish." October 2023
95 POINTS | #1 2023 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc & Top Value New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc - Bob Campbell MW | The Real Review
"Intense, vibrant sauvignon with lemongrass, red capsicum and passionfruit flavours supported by a mouthwatering cut of tangy acidity. High energy wine with a perfect sweet-sour balance giving the wine pleasing tension."
5 STARS / 19 POINTS "Bright, even, pale yellow. The nose is fresh and distinctive, with aromas of gooseberry, tomato vine, green capsicum, stonefruit and floral hints. Medium-light bodied, aromas of peach melded with gooseberry, guava, tomato vine, capsicum and elderflower. The fruit is pure with an elegant presence, enlivening acidity, and flows softly with delicate spice and stony minerals to a harmonious, refreshing closing. This is a classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc presented with elegance and details. Match with diamond clams and sole fish over the next 3 years. Fruit from Blackmore vineyard in Dillons Point fermented to 13% alc. 19/20 pts (95s pts) Dec 2023" Candice Chow
94 POINTS - EXCELLENT "Pungent, powerful, varietal and loud bouquet of place and style with aromas of angelica leaf and tropical fruits, fresh apple flesh and white pineapple, grapefruit flesh and saline rich sea air. On the palate the flavours remerge one by one led by the aciidty and fresh herbs, salinity and core fruit flavours especially the citrus then apple and tropical. Punchy and fresh, well made and ready for drinking from 2024 through 2029." Cameron Douglas MS
